The yoga of Christmas

Many celebrate Christmas as a feast. There is a large meal, drinks and merriment – but is that how we should celebrate Christmas metaphysically?

There is nothing wrong with feeling joyful on this day and spending time with loved ones, in fact it is a wonderful thing.

But the Master Aetherius, a Cosmic Master who spoke through the yogic mediumship of Dr. George King, said that we should celebrate it as a feast of the spirit, not a feast of the body.

We should enjoy ourselves but we should also take time to send power and healing to those who are suffering. And we should send our love to Jesus himself.

The Master Aetherius:

“When you give your love to a great Master, that love is automatically returned, multiplied many, many times.

“Do you see, you can send power and love to a sick friend and that may enter their aura and they may absorb all the love and power, as you call it, that you transmit to them. But when you send love, as you call it, and power to a Cosmic Initiate, His aura cannot absorb this for it is already full, so it is returned to you by that Law Which is God, and you yourselves are filled and impregnated with the wondrous rays which cometh from such a Divine One.

“This impregnation of yourself allows you to impregnate others with these wonderful rays of power, of knowledge, of love, of light, of wisdom, of hope, of faith – the wondrous rays will enter them and by so doing you become virtually a disciple of this Master.

“Cannot you see? Mr. Smith sends out great love and power to the Master of his choice, say the Lord Jesus. So full is that wonderful aura of the Master Jesus that the love and power is transmitted instantaneously back again to Mr. Smith and virtually his aura becomes filled, and he again automatically transmits it out to others – and so the chain goes on and on and on. Mr. Smith either consciously or unconsciously becomes a vessel for this Spiritual power. Isn’t it wonderful? Isn’t it marvelous?”

I. Love. Christmas.

I call myself a Christmas enthusiast, but that’s so I don’t have to use words like “obsessed” or “fanatic.” Think Buddy the Elf.

I’m sure it’s a bit annoying to some of my friends, and probably particularly my husband, but I love it. It’s a magical time.

That being said, in the past, I had thought of this day solely as a day to spend with my family and friends, a day of relaxation.

But several years ago I decided to practice The Twelve Blessings on Christmas Day. It does not take long and I can even join the Online Twelve Blessings Service that day with people all around the world.

This practice is meaningful to me for a number of reasons, but particularly on Christmas Day, as these Blessings were given by The Master Jesus. And the Last Blessing was given to Jesus by Dr. King.

I feel this is a good way to honor Jesus and celebrate him in a positive way.

Something you can try

The Master Aetherius gives us a suggestion at the end of his Transmission:

“Test it for yourself over the Christmas-time. First of all make your sacrifice to those less fortunate than yourselves. This is the action. Secondly, send out your power and love to your chosen Holy One, be it the Buddha, Krishna, Jesus – it matters not. Thirdly, receive back the power of His Heart, His Soul, His Spirit, into you. Receive it consciously. Then translate this power into a further action…”

Are there any Christmas traditions that are meaningful to you?
