You got this

“There are better things ahead than any we leave behind.” – C.S. Lewis

Life can be difficult. We have to face many challenges.

Sometimes we need to take time to heal. But then we move forward. We carry on.

We are more resilient than we give ourselves credit for.

In a lecture from 1971, Master of Yoga Dr. George King said:

“Life is difficult but not impossible. I don’t think that any man is given a problem to solve unless it is known that he can solve that problem, providing he uses courage and determination, and has faith in his own abilities, his higher abilities and probably, sometimes even, in the abilities of others. I don’t think he’s given any problem that’s too great for him.”

We will have bumps in the road and steep mountains to climb. But that is why we are here – to gain experience. To learn and evolve. To reach greater heights.

And to help others do the same.

Next time you come across a new challenge, just remember that you are ready for it.

You CAN handle it!

***

If I can’t solve the whole of a problem I am facing, I often break it down into smaller solutions that will get me to the end goal.

I once signed up to run a 5K (3.1 miles). While I’ve always liked to exercise, I used to not run often.

But my sister found a really fun run, with bouncy house obstacles along the way.

I signed up and started training.

At first, I couldn’t run 3.1 miles. I could only run 1. Then, after some training, I could run 2. And it wasn’t long before I could run the 3.1 miles.

We had such a good time, I don’t even remember feeling any strain at all.

Even if we are only taking small steps forward to solving problems in our lives, we are still moving through them. A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.

Something you can try

The next time you feel overwhelmed, or unsure how you will proceed through a challenge, remember that you can absolutely handle this challenge.

Have faith in yourself. Believe that you are able to get through anything and be determined to do so. Take that first step.

Let me know how this works for you.
