Vesak Day

On Monday, May 12, many around the world will celebrate the Festival of Vesak to honor the birth, enlightenment and death of the Lord Buddha.
Although he has passed on, the Lord Buddha has not left Earth. He currently resides on Shamballa, the etheric city over the Gobi desert. Dr. George King said in an address on the Festival of Vesak:
“A lot of people might say, “Well, why Buddha?” Well, because he was a highly advanced, highly cultured person who came to this Earth. Like Jesus came to this Earth, Buddha came, also, from Venus. And he is classed in occult literature as the elder brother of Jesus. And this elder brother means, really, that he is the senior one. It’s a very bitter pill, I know, for western people to swallow, to think that there’s anybody senior to Jesus. Well, there are several. Sri Krishna is senior to Buddha”
He goes on to say:
“So the Lord Buddha then started to impose his influence from Shamballa. Now, this does not mean, of course, that we will all have to join a Buddhist religion or Buddhist beliefs. It has nothing whatever to do with that…even if we are in this part of the world mostly Christians, and if we live the teachings of Jesus, then also do we automatically live the teachings of Buddha—because there is little or no difference between the teachings of Jesus and the teachings of Buddha.”The main difference is this: that Buddha spoke to a far more intellectual audience than did Jesus, so, therefore, Buddha spoke in the way that an intellectual audience would [and Jesus spoke] in parables, because his audience would not have understood in those days what he was getting at, anyway. But that is the main difference. The wisdom is the same”
So let’s all take a moment on May 12 to send our love to the Lord Buddha in appreciation for his tremendous work for the human race.

I have always enjoyed learning about different religions and religious teachers.
It really resonated with me that Buddha, Jesus, Sri Krishna and others all were teaching the same thing, but to different audiences at different times.
We are fortunate to have so much information available to us about these great teachers and the various ways they are helping the great Cosmic Plan for the enlightenment and salvation of the human race.
Something you can try
In an address about the Festival of Vesak, Dr. George King shared a short story about the nature of reality and I’ll finish with this as something to think about:
“A disciple once asked the Lord Buddha: he said, “Master, what is reality?” And the Lord Buddha did not answer him. So the disciple said, “Master, I ask you again, what is reality?” And the Buddha did not answer again. So the disciple, now, with his limitation, a bit annoyed about the whole thing, felt he should have an answer, and he insisted. He said, “My Lord, I’ve asked you before—I’ve asked you twice before—what is reality? I now ask you a third time.” And the Buddha said, “I have answered you twice.”
