Take a single step
What we do today creates our tomorrow.
Similarly, who we are today is a result of our past thoughts and actions.
We are here to evolve, but this is a very long journey.
In a lecture from 1959, Dr. George King said:
“I have said: ‘The journey within is the shortest journey that man can take and yet it takes the longest time.’ And it is so. He can make a thousands-of-miles’ journey in a matter of a few hours. But it takes him life after life after countless life to make this short journey within and, in a time-space continuum, really, it is only a short distance.”
The great Avatar Lao Tzu taught that a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.
So we may not be able to raise our consciousness as high as we might like overnight, but we can still improve ourselves little by little.
Over time, taking many small steps will allow us to move far along our evolutionary path.
Something you can try
Given we are in the New Year already, you may have already thought of some goals you want to achieve this year. But if not, try to think of something meaningful and manageable. What is a little habit you want to pick up, or a bad one you would like to drop?As with all goals, the key is following through and actually doing what we say we are going to do. Dr. King gives great insight into this in an address called “New Morning,” which is available on Aetherius Cloud.
