Feeling overwhelmed with the state of the world
Our world, and humanity, is not in a great state.
Watching all the terrible situations in the world can make us feel overwhelmed, and sometimes helpless to make a positive difference.
It is good to feel empathy and want to help, so we shouldn’t hide from what is going on in the world, bad as it may be.
Because we can make a very real difference.
The Master Aetherius said:
“…you see the grave dangers, which are threatening your beautiful green little world at the present time. You may say, “What can I, as an individual, do about this?” You may say that as an ordinary individual, you cannot change the course of so-called science.
My friends, you can do something about it!
You can tune into the higher forces so that the God-Power within yourself is released. And if enough of you do this, then you can veritably light a beacon throughout your whole world; a beacon, which can never be extinguished, a beacon, which will shine through darkness of your world, a beacon, which will attract others, a beacon, which will – like the light on the lighthouse warns a ship, and which will keep people away from the rocks of danger.”
It has been said that with wisdom, comes responsibility. If we accept this responsibility, if we become beacons of light, we can make a fantastic difference in the world. The Master Aetherius goes on to say:
“You know by your own scriptures that there was a time when a few good men could have saved a city. That time is today, my friends. Now, at this moment, one good man can save a city, a handful of good men can save a county, three handfuls of good men can save a country by so changing their own thought and actions that they can alter the karmic pattern of this planet.”
This may seem hard to believe, but there are thousands of examples of good people around the world, throughout history, who, because of their example and leadership, brought about great change.

I shouldn’t, but I do sometimes hide away from the news of the world because it is hard to believe we are in the state we are. Hearing about suffering is depressing.
I can also understand how some people feel disheartened when we can’t see the outcome of our prayers. When you pray, you know you’re doing good, but you don’t get to see the people you help and that would feel very satisfying.
But sometimes it isn’t just faith, you can feel it.
I was saying The Twelve Blessings the other day and just as I started, I immediately felt that my hands were surrounded by energy. I don’t always feel energy when I pray, and when I do, it certainly isn’t this strong.
I wasn’t feeling especially inspired when I started to pray, in fact, I was having a bit of a bad day, so I was quite surprised to feel the energy as strongly as I did.
It was a good reminder to me that, as Gandhi said:
“Prayer is not an old woman’s idle amusement. Properly understood and applied, it is the most potent instrument of action.”
Something you can try
Praying dynamically is a fantastic way to help the world. Here is a video that can help you learn how to do it.
Do you do anything that you feel is really helping the world?
