A day of appreciation

Have you heard of “National All Is Ours Day”?

I hadn’t either – but that’s what today is!

April 8 is a day to appreciate what we have, reflect on nature, and share with others.

Nature obviously plays a very important role in our lives, but most of the time we don’t appreciate it, or even notice it.

We have the Devic Kingdom to thank for the functioning of nature and our weather. Dr. George King said:

“What do they do? Well as I’ve said before, if it suddenly rains in Los Angeles it is not by chance. You might say, “Yes, well it rains because the clouds collect over Los Angeles, and the temperature up high reaches a certain low and this causes the rain to fall.” This is correct. “But why do the clouds collect? And why does the temperature move? You might say, “Well, of course if you apply heat to air you will cause the air to warm up, and a convection current to start in the air, and this convection current working through the clouds causes rain.” You are right, yes. “But how is it that you can apply the heat? Where does the heat come from? You might say, “Well it comes from the Sun, or it comes from…if I want to apply heat, I strike a match.” How is it that the match lights? By chance? No, nothing can possibly happen in this world by chance.”

He goes on to explain why we can’t readily see members of the Devic Kingdom:

“I used to, when I was a child, used to play with these fairies. And when people tried to tell me they did not exist, it was a big shock to me because I kept on wondering why these grown-up people told such lies; and many, many children—many children—can see fairies.”Only they see them with, shall we say, their psychic vision rather than their physical vision. You might say, “Well if the devas are as physical as you say they are, then why can’t I see them?” Mainly because man has, through the years, killed out his great psychic ability—the psychic ability which exists in all people has been put to the back.”

While we may not be able to see these nature spirits, we can still be aware of them and thankful for their work.

I love going out into nature.

I always find that spending time outdoors has helped me keep a calm mind, especially since I often use the time to work out any difficulties I am having at the time.

If I’m feeling particularly stressed, going for a walk in the woods, on a beach or on a mountain always seems to relieve the tension.

Sometimes when I do this, I will say The Twelve Blessings, or even just the Fifth Blessing to the Thanksgivers.

There is an immediate response back from nature when I do this. I feel peaceful, I feel uplifted.

Thinking about it now as I write this, I am reminded that I should do this more often.

Something you can try

Dr. King gave advice on how we can become more aware of the Devic Kingdom. He said:

“Try to be aware of this tremendous interchange of energy between you and the plant life: the trees, the hedges, the bushes, even the grass. If you’re not aware of it, enhance this awareness by actually sending to the trees, the bushes and the grass, your love. And actually try to physically love these things.

“Just try it. Not emotionally love it, but try to physically love these things, and you will feel this tremendous interchange between you and these things. An interchange between you, yourself and the devas who are looking after, bringing about, the vegetable kingdom.

“And this is so easy to do, and so thrilling—yes, thrilling—and highly exhilarating, because afterwards you give the vegetable kingdom something, and you take something from them in return for your gift. Because, you know, the vegetable kingdom is extremely generous … they will always give of their very best, of their very highest, of their very greatest vibration and power. Try this a few times and you will find that you will advance quite a lot by doing this.”

Have you ever had an experience with the Devic Kingdom?
